8 years came and went, the infamous Hacienda Luisita Massacre remains unresolve to this date. 7 human person died on that fateful date. Farmworkers themselves, sons and fathers, all residents of the promised land: Hacienda Luisita bade their last that day. A hundred more were wounded by bullets who have rained from the heavens of the landed Lords.
Months immediately after the massacre, 8 more were extrajudicially killed, including the latest killing of Willem Geertman, a missionary who had invested his youth, talent and resources for the betterment of the Filipino farmworkers especially communities in Central Luzon. He among the 8 others were staunch and active supporters of the Hacienda Luisita farmworkers.
And others remain missing. Never to be found. Abducted because they have supported a just cause against a mighty landed Lord.
The culprit: Noynoy Aquino, his Cojuangco-Aquino family, and their armies, private and government that works for their interest. He among others remain at large, all freemen, remains in power in different positions, and one is even a President of this Republic, while the families of this victims suffer from the lost of lives and livelihoods.
Would you still wonder why massacres proliferate our nation? The latest of which is the gruesome killing of the Capion family, including kids, and elderly ones. They are indigenous people from Tampakan, heroes who defended that their ancestral homes be safe from the invasion of a mining company.
What justice could one ask, if the very President of this nation, is a murderer himself?
On November 16, let us as one nation, remember the martyrs of Hacienda Luisita. Let us call for that elusive Justice. Hoping, that justice for this farmworkers, is one step to attain a just society, free of president murderers.
